Facts
Everyone Should Know About Dental Insurance:
We recognize that dental insurance plays a
role in helping many patients obtain dental treatment. In
our effort to provide the highest quality dental care possible,
we would like to share some facts about dental insurance
with you.
Fact
#01:
Many insurance companies use an alternative treatment option
which gives them the “right” to pay for a less
expensive procedure or material if it is an insurance clerk’s
sole opinion that the less expensive procedure is O.K. for
you. Amazing!!
Fact
#02:
Some insurance companies tell you that the Doctor’s
fees are above the “usual and customary” fee,
rather than saying their benefits are low or below average. The
less you get paid after treatment, the more the insurance
company profits.
Fact
#03:
Dental insurance is actually not insurance
as most people recognize it. There is no deductible,
and the insurance company does not pay a fixed percentage
of the bill. It would be correct to call Dental insurance
an "annual dental benefit" of $1,000.00 -
$1,500.00 provided by employers to employees for preventive
and minor needs.
Fact
#04:
Your
annual limit of benefits has not risen in more than
25 years!
Fact
#05:
Many companies tell you that you are covered for
80-100%, but do not explain that this percentage is based
on a daily fluctuating fee schedule that is not published
or given to anyone outside of the insurance company - even
you.
Fact
#06:
Many accepted and routine services are not covered
by insurance carriers even if these procedures would save
the insurance company money in the long run. (i.e.
adult sealants or fluoride treatment)
Electronic
Claims Filing
As part of our service to you, we will electronically file
each insurance claim with the technical dental language and
proper codes at each of your appointments. We
will do everything we can to make sure you maximize your
insurance benefits and get 100% of the benefit you deserve.
Because your health is so important, we can not have our
hands tied behind our backs by an insurance company when
it comes to your treatment. We are quite proud of the
fact that we do not let any HMO or PPO managed care plans
dictate even the smallest detail of the treatment you receive
by signing contracts with an insurance company. Our
only contract is with you!
